Terms, Cancellation and Weather Policy
The simple version: $100 holds your date and is not refundable, the captain makes the call on weather and safety, and if the captain cancels you choose a new date or a full refund. The detail is below.
Booking and your deposit
A deposit of at least $100 paid on this website, or by card over the phone, secures your date. Days are limited, so a date without a deposit is not held and we may book it to someone else.
You can pay any amount from $1 up to the full trip price when you book. Whatever you do not pay online is due at the dock on the day of your trip. See payments and refunds for how payment works.
The deposit is not refundable. Please be sure of your date before you pay.
Your trip is booked once you have paid and received a booking reference by email. If you did not get one, call or text us.
Cancellation and rescheduling
Your deposit is not refundable. That applies whenever you cancel, however much notice you give, and it is how we keep your date held for you. We do not offer refunds on cancellations by the guest.
If your plans change, call or text (541) 357-6577 as early as you can. Special situations are sometimes handled case by case, so talk to us. Any rescheduling is at the captain’s discretion.
A deposit never carries over into another calendar year.
If we cancel a trip ourselves, you are never charged for it. See weather and river conditions.
Weather and river conditions
Safety comes first and the captain decides whether it is safe to go. Strong wind, lightning, ice, heavy smoke, high water, a river or boat-ramp closure and similar conditions can all stop a trip. Cold alone does not: both boats are fully enclosed and heated.
If the captain cancels or ends your trip because of weather, river conditions or safety, you choose between a new date and a full refund of what you paid for that trip. Nothing is deducted.
If a fishery closes by agency order before your trip, we will offer another date or another species, or refund what you paid.
If the captain says it is safe to fish and you decide not to go, your payment is not refunded.
Your guide will usually be in touch in the week before your trip. If you have not heard from us by then, call or text (541) 357-6577 before you leave home.
Refunds
The deposit is not refundable. The only refund we make is the one above: when the captain cancels a trip for weather or safety and you choose a refund over a new date, or when an agency closes the fishery and you choose a refund.
Refunds go back to the PayPal account or card you paid with. We start them as soon as the cancellation is agreed, and your bank or PayPal then takes a few business days to show the money. Tips are refunded together with the trip.
Arriving on time
Boat ramps get busy, and an on-time start is fair to everyone on board. Arrive early on the day.
If you are running late, call or text us right away. Your guide will wait up to one hour. After that the trip may be cancelled and charged at the full day rate, unless you have reached us by phone and agreed that you are on your way.
Your guide may start on the scheduled time and return to the dock on the scheduled time, even if you arrive late.
If you have joined another group, the price is based on how many people fish in the boat that day. If you are late and the boat has left, we may charge you the full day rate. Where we can, we will fish near the dock and come back for you.
Conduct and safety on board
- Alcohol is allowed by law on the boat. Keep it moderate. If we have to warn you, or the captain decides you have had too much, we can take you back to the dock and end your day for safety, with no refund.
- No illegal drugs on the boat, including substances that are legal under state law. Guides must follow federal rules.
- No fighting, with anyone, including family. The trip ends at once, with no refund.
- Follow your captain’s instructions about the boat, the gear and life jackets at all times.
- You are responsible for any damage you cause on purpose or through carelessness to the boat, the tackle or the guide. We charge for repair or replacement.
Licenses and fishing rules
Each angler needs a valid fishing license for the state they fish in, with any endorsement the fishery needs, such as a salmon, steelhead or sturgeon tag where one is required. Fishing regulations change, and the captain follows them: size limits, bag limits and closures decide what you may keep.
Fishing is never guaranteed
We put you on fish with local knowledge and good gear, but we cannot promise a catch or a number of fish. Runs, water and weather change from day to day, and the price of a trip does not depend on the catch.
Risk and liability
Boating and fishing carry real risks, including slips and falls, hooks, changing weather and cold water. By joining a trip you accept those ordinary risks. Please tell us about any health condition, mobility need or young angler before the day so we can plan for it.
To the fullest extent the law allows, our responsibility for a trip is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing in these terms limits a right you have under the law that cannot be limited.
Photos and video
We take photos and video on trips. By booking you agree that we may use them on this website and on other sites and advertising channels we run.
If you would rather not appear, tell us in writing through the contact page before your trip. We will confirm back to you that we received it.
Changes and governing law
We may update these terms. The terms in force when you book are the ones that apply to your trip. They are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon.
