About these photos
Catches from Columbia River trips
A few notes on what you are looking at.
Keeper and oversize sturgeon
A keeper sturgeon is a fish you can hold for the photo, around 4 to 5 feet long. An oversize sturgeon is much larger and stays in the water at the boat before it is released.
Walleye, salmon, steelhead and shad
Walleye fish all year on the Columbia. Chinook salmon run in spring, summer and fall, steelhead come on in the cold months and the shad run arrives in early summer. The photos are from real trips across all of them.
